About Quiet Light

Selling a digital business is never just a financial transaction. It's personal.

We started Quiet Light because we couldn't find the brokerage we needed when we sold.

Quiet Light team

When it comes time to sell your digital business, it can be emotional. And high stakes. You want to know your business will be valued accurately, honestly, and handed off to someone who sees what you've built.

That's what we wanted, too. But what we found instead were brokers who'd never run a business, inflated valuations designed to win the listing, and a process that treated our companies like inventory — not the result of years of risk and effort. So we built something better.

Every advisor at Quiet Light has personally bought, built, or sold an online business. We've been through the same questions you're asking now:

  • Is this the right time to sell — or should I wait?
  • Will buyers actually see the value here?
  • How do I exit without losing momentum or leaving money behind?

Our Values

How has Quiet Light become the most referred brokerage? Our values.

These values aren't marketing language. They're the bar we hold ourselves to — whether or not anyone's looking.

We tell you the truth — even when it's not in our best interest. If we think you're not ready to sell, we'll say it. If we think a buyer is a bad fit, we'll speak up. And if your numbers need tightening to get the value you deserve, we won't pretend otherwise.

Three brokers gave me inflated numbers. Quiet Light told me the truth — even though it meant waiting six months. That advice alone saved me hundreds of thousands.

You'll never be pushed into selling before you're ready. We prioritize clarity over urgency. Whether you're thinking about exiting next quarter or next year, we help you understand how the market sees your business, what your options are, and what steps to take — on your timeline.

They walked me through the process in plain English. I left the first call knowing more than I learned in months of research.

— SaaS Founder

Every advisor owns their relationships and their results. We don't pass sellers off to assistants or shift responsibility when things get hard. Your outcome is our outcome — and we act accordingly.

We share what we know — before, during, and long after the sale. Free resources, honest calls, real advice. We believe in the long game: a founder who exits well becomes a buyer, a referral source, a friend of the firm. Generosity is just good business.

Our Story

Why we built Quiet Light

When Mark sold his first business, the process felt wrong. So he built something better.

In 2006, our founder Mark Daoust sold his first content site — a business he'd spent years building. The result was a successful exit. But the experience? Rushed, impersonal, and filled with advice that didn't reflect what actually mattered to him as a founder.

The process was transactional. The people hadn't built anything themselves. And no one seemed to care what came after the close.

A few months later, a friend asked him for help selling his own business. Mark stepped in — and that process felt completely different. Founder to founder. Honest, grounded, strategic. The result? A better deal and a better outcome.

I liked that my advisor had sold a business himself. It gave me confidence that he wasn't just going off theory — he'd lived through this.

And that's when it clicked.

What's missing in most deals isn't data or negotiation — it's real-world experience and founder empathy.

It turns out experience makes the biggest difference — because it offers insights spreadsheets can't:

  • Knowing which red flags buyers will pounce on
  • Understanding the emotional weight of letting go
  • Guiding sellers through tough decisions without pressure
  • Helping buyers see value others miss

So Mark built Quiet Light around that insight — and created a new standard for founder-first M&A. Every advisor here has built, bought, or sold their own online business. We speak your language because we've lived your journey.

Today, that same principle guides everything we do. We don't just broker deals. We help founders exit with clarity, confidence, and no second guessing.

The Team

We're not the biggest team in the industry. Just the most trusted.

Every Quiet Light advisor has been through their own exit — or acquisition. We've walked away from the wrong deals, held the line on what mattered, and seen firsthand what great outcomes really require.

How We Compare

Not all exits are created equal.

How you sell matters as much as what you sell for. Here's how Quiet Light stacks up against the alternatives.
